Interview with Erie Zoo Director Cindy Kreider about the Recent Amur Leopard Tragedy

Edgar, a 5-year-old male leopard, killed Lina, a 7-year-old female leopard, when Erie Zoo staff paired them in an attempt to encourage breeding. Although a vet was on hand, the damage to Lina's trachea was unable to be repaired.

Chinese big-headed turtles: This endangered turtle’s ability to hide from poachers is hindered by a head so big it cannot be withdrawn inside its shell. Five hatched at Prospect Park Zoo in November.
